The device is only 11mm thick and weighs 2.7 pounds.

“We are very excited to bring our new M2 chip to the two most popular laptops in the world: the MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

The 2022 MacBook Air has a squarer look than its predecessors, which tend to be wedge-shaped.
It has a 13.6-inch display with 500 nits of peak brightness, with smaller bezels surrounding it than previous models.
A quiet, fanless design is likely to impress Apple fans, as is a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam.
Apple claims the MacBook Air is 40% faster than the previous model, thanks to the new M2 chip.

Users can choose from four color options: silver, space gray, “star” gold, and “midnight” blue.
The MacBook Air will be available in July starting at $1,199.
“Only Apple silicon can allow you to build such a thin and light laptop with a fanless design and this combination of performance and capability,” Joswiak added.
“M2 is also available on the 13-inch MacBook Pro, with incredible performance, ProRes acceleration, up to 24GB of memory and up to 20 hours of battery life, making our most portable business laptop even better. .”
