On his mission to find extraterrestrial life in MarchNASA has sent several robotic vehicles, called rovers, to the so-called red planet.
The rovers are tasked with taking various images of Mars and recently the Curiosity Rover captured a photograph in which columns can be seen protruding from the surface of the planet and resembling a gate.
Additionally, earlier this year, Curiosity photographed a rock called “Flower of March”.
What are these strange structures found on Mars?
Gate to Mars
NASA’s Curiosity rover’s mast camera captured a mound of rock dubbed “East Cliffs”.
The mound, located on Mount Sharp, has a number of natural open fractures, including one approximately 12 inches high and 6 inches wide, similar in size to dog doors.

As reported by NASA, these types of open fractures are common in bedrock, both on Earth and on Mars.
The Seti Institutededicated to explaining the origin of life in the universe, theorized about the reason for these door-like rocks.
“Most likely the peaks are the cemented fillings of ancient fractures in a sedimentary rock. The rest of the rock was made of softer material and has been eroded,” they tweeted along with an image of the find. .

march flower
In February this year, NASA released a record of rocks found on Mars, which have been named by scientists as “Sloe Salt” (Blackthorn Salt), but became popularly known as “March Flower”.
The discovery was also made by the Curiosity rover and, according to what the researchers said, this “flower” would be a mineral formation that was produced by the precipitation of water.
Abigail Fraemanna scientist from the Curiosity project, explained that the size of this “flower” is smaller than that of the American penny.
