David Harbor Wore a Facial Prosthesis in Stranger Things 4 and No One Noticed

However, in the fourth, we find out that he survived, but was locked up by the Russian army. In this context, Hopper reappears in the series much thinner and with a deteriorated appearance.

In order to play the imprisoned Hopper in the production’s fourth cycle, Harbor had to lose several pounds.

However, that was a small problem. Although the actor offered to record the flashback scenes before starting his weight loss process, the new episodes weren’t written yet, so it wasn’t possible.

As revealed on his social media, to record the flashback scene where he survives the reactor explosion, David Harbor used a facial prosthesis that made his face look like he had before he lost weight.

In a sequence of images on her Instagram account, the star showed how the characterization process went.

“At the end of season 3, I told the Duffer brothers that the flashback after ‘death’ had to be shot because it was going to lose weight and it could lead to breaks in continuity. But they didn’t have it. yet written,” he said.

“Luckily we had the wonderful (makeup artist) Barrie Gower to give me the complete Hopper look. I hate prosthetics, but Barry and his team made it as painless as possible.”

“A big thank you also to Amyl Forsythe, who has also been in charge of our makeup department since Season 1, for overseeing and being so generous throughout the process,” she added.

In the same post, he revealed that the process of shaving his head in season four was recorded in one take and with the help of the show’s hairstylist.

“(Thank you) also to Sarah Hinds, our talented head stylist, who has been by my side in our ‘gulag hair salon’, making sure my hair was shaved as neatly and efficiently as possible to make it look good on my face. on camera. We did it in one fell swoop!” he said.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Will Only Have Two Chapters

Note that the first volume is available on Netflix from May 27, while the second part will arrive on the platform on July 1.

The latter will only have two episodes, but both are long. While the first will last about 1h25; the second and last will last nearly two and a half hours.
