'We've strayed': BTS temporarily split up to focus on personal projects | Television and Show

BTS celebrated their 9th anniversary with the annual Festa event and took the opportunity to announce that they will be taking an extended hiatus. RM explains that they need time to reflect on their future and carry out personal projects.

the korean group bts announced that he was temporarily separating. This means that its members will take a long break, without performing group activities for an indefinite period of time.

However, it is important to clarify that they do not dissolve forever, but rather are a hiatus temporary.

The members revealed it at the Festa Dinner, an event held every year to celebrate the anniversary of their debut on June 13, 2013.

Why is BTS temporarily disbanding?

The purpose of this break is to be able to boost their solo careerbecause they want to further develop personal projects.

And more than that, it’s also about take time to think about your future. That’s how he explained it leader, Kim Namjoon, better known as RMwho remarked that it was difficult for them to keep up with the high demands of the K-pop industry.

“I always thought BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature. You have to keep producing. music and doing things,” he said.

Once I wake up in the morning and get my makeup done, there’s no time to grow. And it’s not just about music and work, I’ve changed as a human being over the past 10 years. So I need to reflect and have time for myself, so that those thoughts can mature into something unique to me,” he added.

And he pointed out that “before I could balance it with work, but after 10 years of living in BTS and following the whole schedule, I can no longer mature physically”.

“I don’t have time to think”

In this sense, RM also expressed the need to reflect on the path they will take as artists and as a group.

“I don’t have time to think. I need to know who I am, what kind of group is BTS. I need to know why I’m here, what the other members mean to me, the path we’re going to take as a group (…) At one point, I no longer knew what kind of group we were. It was hard for me not knowing what we were going to do as a band from now on. I don’t know which direction the band should take,” he said.

Likewise, Namjoon said that he came to feel trapped in his role with BTS, as it did not allow him to show his other sides as an artist.

“Right now we’ve lost our way, and I just want to take some time to reflect and then come back. But it feels disrespectful to our fans and like I’m letting them down. We have achieved all of this thanks to our fans, but we are not living up to their expectations,” he said.

Later, the other members described how they feel about this hiatus and what their individual plans are for the coming months.

Moreover, they clarified that now they live apart and not together. It is customary for members of a K-pop group to live together in the same apartment, either permanently or temporarily, to facilitate joint work.
