The new Mercedes-Benz EQE was presented, yet another protagonist of the electric range of the German manufacturer. There will be an AMG version with over 680 horsepower.
The fourth model using the new Mercedes electric platform was presented to the public. The EQE SUV is the multifunctional version of the EQE limousine. Like the latter, it comes with the essential innovations of the EQS and at the same time is more dynamic than the EQS SUV. The EQE SUV is one of the most spacious variants in its class.
The EQE SUV offers a wide range of power stages, from 288 to 402 hp. Depending on the equipment and vehicle configuration, European models can reach WLTP distances of up to 590 kilometers. In the EQE SUV, the lithium-ion battery consists of ten modules. In the
In some cases, the in-house developed battery management software can be updated over the air. Other systems can also be remotely updated by the manufacturer.
The suspension is sophisticated, using air cushions. It comes with different driving modes such as Eco, Comfort, Sport or Individual. It is also possible to opt for a system that ensures steering for the rear wheels as well. Offers a steering angle of up to 10 degrees.
The new Mercedes EQE strengthens the company’s electric future
The design remains in the theme of the electric Mercedes models. Thus, we have a rounded car with a shape that, at first glance, is not exactly similar to an SUV. It is in fact a project focused on aerodynamic efficiency, since it must contribute to greater autonomy. The EQE SUV shares some features with Mercedes’ other electric models. The underside features numerous aerodynamic details that play an important role in achieving an impressive 0.251 drag coefficient.
The front and rear consoles have been kept compactly. The wheels range in size from 19 to 22 inches and are level
with the outer edge of the body.
The interior is, as you’d expect, packed with cutting-edge technology. The EQE SUV is based on the large electric platform of Mercedes-EQ. In addition, it boasts constantly digitized interiors. The optionally available Hyperscreen MBUX implements this vision in an impressive way. There are also eco-friendly options, the standard Electric Art interior doesn’t use leather at all.
The first electric SUV of the AMG division
Like the AMG EQS and AMG EQE sedans, the AMG EQE SUV is developed on the electric platform of Mercedes-EQ. Two
powerful electric motors and fully variable all-wheel drive form the basis of these vehicles.
Both new Mercedes-AMG EQE models offer two electric motors. The power range goes from 476 hp for the EQE 43 4MATIC, up to 687 hp for the EQE 53 4MATIC + with the optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package with Boost function. The maximum torque ranges from 858 to 1000 Nm.
On the outside, the car received some specific design elements. These include the radiator grille with chrome vertical bar panel, integrated Mercedes star and “AMG” lettering. New is the brand-specific hood emblem with the AMG emblem instead of the Mercedes star. A front splitter finished in glossy black with chrome trim and fins on the air intakes has been added.
On the side, the AMG-specific wheel arches are finished in body color. Added to these are aerodynamically optimized 21 or 22-inch wheels.
The interior is also dominated by specific AMG elements. Here the new models give a sporty atmosphere given by seats with customized graphics and special seat covers in leather and microfibre. Alternatively, the seat upholstery in nappa leather is also available as an option
with AMG-specific seat graphics.
Production will take place in the United States and the battery will have a 10-year or 250,000-kilometer warranty.
